Our Story

About Us

Dennis Wise In The Community was founded in 2000 by ex-Chelsea FC captain Dennis Wise. The non-profit organisation raises money to improve the lives of children and adults with disabilities. We have raised over £1 million to date, and our long term goal is to donate 100 minibuses to those who need them most.

Dennis and the trustees are committed to helping improve the quality of life for young people and adults across the country.

With your help, every pound donated will be spent towards helping people in need.

Buses from our 100 bus target have been donated to date!

What we do

Our Work

Minibus Donations

Since the formation of the Charity the main focus has been on providing minibuses to charitable organisations in need. There has been a particular focus on special needs children and adults where these minibuses make a huge difference to their lives by enabling them to integrate with the wider community.

The Charity has a long term goal to donate over 100 minibuses to educational and charitable organisations which will help improve hundreds of lives. If you are interested in finding more out about what we do or are involved with an organisation which has need of a minibus then please get in touch with us.

Wheelchair Donations

Over the past 15 years the Charity has purchased a number of specialist wheelchairs for disabled adults and children in need which has changed their lives. The trustees of the Charity are passionate about improving the mobility of young children and adults.

These wheelchairs have transformed the lives of not only the users, but their families, care staff, friends, and support networks allowing them a better quality of life. If you are interested in finding more out about what we do or know of someone who has need of a minibus then please get in touch with us.

What Drives Us

Our Mission Statement

To provide financial support for education, to provide transport facilities for persons who have a special need of such facilities, such as the elderly, the poor, the disabled, people with young children, or those living in areas where there are no adequate public transport facilities, and to provide support to children with disabilities and organisations providing hospice and care services to children.

How You Can Help

Fundraising

If not for the amazing generosity of people and supporters like you, we wouldn’t be able to improve the quality of life for the children and adults who rely on our charity for support and assistance during their hardest times. Whether you raise money by running a marathon, shaving all of your hair off, or hosting a barbecue, there are loads of great ways to make a huge difference to the lives of those who need it most. Let us know if you’d like to help our cause!

Making a Donation

The regular donations of our friends and supporters help us to be there when those we care for need it most. By clicking the link below and making a donation you can help us continue with our hard work and help provide even further assistance to all children and adults who need us. As a charity almost all of our funding comes from people like you, and every donation makes a huge difference to the help we can offer to disabled children and adults, and their families.
